It seemed like a good idea when I headed out this morning. It was drizzling, nothing more than a sprinkle. Little did I know that by the time I left my umbrella in the car because it was only raining lightly and my hood would suffice that it wasn’t going to stay that way. With each step I took the rain came down a little harder and faster. I tried to take as many photos as I could between trying to shelter the camera and make sure the lens was dry. By the time I decided that the outing was a bust, my shoes were caked with sand and I was cringing at the thought of that sand embedding itself into the car floor mats. I decided to see how close I could get to my feathered friends, who did not seem the least bit bothered by the rain. They steadfastly ignored me as I invaded their space. Finally I couldn’t see through the rain which was dripping down my face and decided to call it. I wasn’t aware of the deep puddles until I was a few feet in. With the downpour it was hard to see much. Lucky for me that solved the problem of the sandy shoes. I sloshed back to my car and as I was putting it in gear I noticed a sheriff’s truck pulling into the parking lot. What a way to start the day!!! (And it wasn’t even 8:00 yet!)
Happy Sunday! Stay dry, safe and healthy!
