I love photography challenges. One of these days, I’ll actually sit down with my DSLR camera and figure out how to use it! Until then, my iPhone does a pretty good job of capturing the pictures that I want. There’s nothing like a good challenge- like this week’s for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, which is a word which starts with the letter V and has at least six letters.
Beej recently discovered the fun of game pieces. They are precious cargo on trains. They march in straight lines. Organizing them into color or style groups is also fun for a three year old so it was no surprise when I found chess queens jumbled up in a pile.
These days any house with a little boy probably has its own supply of Lightning McQueens on hand.
I enjoy all of Cee’s Photo Challenges but this week’s challenge for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Letter P is more of a challenge than last week’s Letter O (which only had to have the letter O in the word). There are a few guidelines- the word must begin with a letter P and be at least five letters long. It sounds simple enough but if you’re anything like me, well, what seemed like an easy challenge had me drawing a blank! Using a little creativity, I was able to rise to the challenge. (Maybe the challenge should have been- how many times can you use the word challenge in one paragraph??? Yeah, I’m cringing just a bit here!)
This week’s song, Three Little Birds by Bob Marley and the Wailers (1977), never fails to bring me a renewed sense of determination and a feeling that I can overcome anything as long as I keep my priorities straight. As long as I can remember, what makes me happiest is my family. The combination of this reassuring song and my love for my “three little birds” gives me motivation to keep moving.
“Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin’ sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true
Saying’, (this is my message to you)
Singing’ don’t worry ’bout a thing
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Singing’ don’t worry (don’t worry) ’bout a thing
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright”
