‘There’s no need to fear
Underdog is here!’
Shoeshine Boy aka Underdog and Sweet Polly Purebread! What a match! As simple as it was, it entertained me endlessly as a child.
There was nothing like Saturday morning cartoons in the 1970’s. We waited all week for Saturday morning to come. This was very special because we weren’t able to watch cartoons all week long. Talk about a much simpler time!
Since Underdog was one of my favorites, you can only imagine how tickled I was when he was featured in an episode of Friends, “The One Where Underdog Gets Away.”
Were you a Saturday morning cartoon watcher? Do you have any favorites?

Are you ready for the weekend?

while I don’t think I have watched Underdog, I grew up on Tom and Jerry and loved those..

I didn’t watch much Tom and Jerry other than when my younger siblings were watching it. I can see why it was popular at the time. 🙂 (And why Underdog appealed to me so much- I don’t know!)

Yes! Underdog was one of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons, too. Sure was different back then, when we only could watch on Saturday mornings. 🙂

Yes. We really looked forward to that time. I’m not sure I would have believed we would be able to watch whatever we wanted whenever we wanted.
