Q is for Queen #AtoZChallenge

If you had asked me if I liked Queen when I was a teenager, I probably would have shrugged. Until the minute I sat down in a theater and watched Bohemian Rhapsody a few years ago, I did not even realize how many Queen songs I loved.

After giving it a little thought, it occurred to me that I never realized they were Queen songs. Obviously I can clearly hear it now when I run through the songs in my head. What was I thinking? Why didn’t I know this? Great questions.

I never owned an LP or even a 45 of a Queen song. There’s no reason other than I had to buy those records with my baby-sitting and paper route earnings and I was very choosy. There were so many that I wanted, I couldn’t have them all. Looking back, I question my own taste but hey, I was young and it was the 70’s!

Out of the 15 songs released by Queen n the 70’s, I loved nine and here they are-

  • “Killer Queen”
  • “Bohemian Rhapsody”
  • “Somebody to Love”
  • “You’re My Best Friend”
  • “We Will Rock You”
  • “We are the Champions”
  • “Fat Bottomed Girls”
  • “Don’t Stop Me Now”
  • “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”
And this is my favorite!

Do you have a favorite Queen song?

Hope your day is sunny and bright! (I’ve got snow here. Yes, snow! In mid-April!)

  1. I’ve liked a lot of their songs, too. Another One Bites the Dust is a favorite. My daughter had a Queen CD, but the dog chewed it up one day. haha not funny then, but it is now. 🙂

    1. If I had gone out and bought the albums or cds or whatever, I’m guessing I would have loved them all. For whatever reason, I didn’t connect them all to Queen.
