There is a superstition that says if you say “Rabbit, Rabbit” or a variation by either the number of rabbits or words (“white rabbit” or “rabbits”) upon waking the first day of the month, then you will have good luck throughout the month.
I can’t see a white rabbit without thinking about my favorite childhood book- Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. This is my beloved copy.

As I sit here recovering from the flu, I can use all the luck I can get so I will wish you a Happy Rabbit, Rabbit Day and a lucky, healthy February!

I’ve never heard of saying it on a particular day but rather when you are sitting by a fire and the smoke blows in your face. Hmm wonder how these started.

Wow! I’ve never heard that one! It was hard to pinpoint origin because there are so many different versions and backgrounds to accompany them. All I know is that I can use all the luck I can get! 🙂 Have a great day!

Hmm…Thanks for advice, never hurts so I’ll be saying it all day. 🙂 LOL!
Sorry you hot struck with the flu! Get well!! My husband just got over it and we all are hoping we don’t catch it next. My daughter isn’t feeling the greatest today. 😦 but no fever so hopefully she will be OK. My throat is bothering me but other than that I am fine. Ready for Spring and the worry of the “flu oubreak” to go away!

My husband is still dragging some too! Just doesn’t have the energy. Hope that soon you will be totally normal, well if that is possible. LOL!

LOL yeah, normal being a relative term. 🙂

Yes! I’ve only ever read about this tradition in English novels. I’m pretty sure I’ll never think of saying it on the first day of a month, so I’ll never know if it works.
