Blogging From A to Z Challenge: P

Photograph– Ringo Starr- 1973

As I’ve been participating in the A to Z Challenge, I wanted to stay mindful of the fact that not everyone is a major Beatles/John Lennon fan- like me. I planned on making an effort not to get too Beatles-heavy in my song choices but I honestly never thought I would make it this far without using at least a John song. And then to realize that the first Beatles connected song I used would be a Ringo song? I really didn’t expect this!

Ringo Starr co-wrote this song with George Harrison, his former Beatles band member. I chose this particular video because Ringo is performing at the incredible Royal Albert Hall, with George’s son Dhani at the Concert for George. It’s touching to see Dhani, looking so much like his father. It’s a nostalgic song and maybe not the best of Ringo’s performances but touching all the same.
