Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 13- Love

“I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)” -e.e. cummings

How could I NOT share the most special Valentine I received this year from my favorite 6 year old? A few things to note- the marks by the heart’s hands are the motion of his hands flapping, that is his curly hair on top although it is colored in orange (which it is not) and he has eyebrows. Little CJ and I have shared a rocky journey but I love him more than anything and it’s small things like this that tell me that he knows it.

And there you have it- my offering for Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 13- Love. Be sure to click on the link to stop by Hugh’s place and check out this challenge as well as the other cool things he does!

-Four Weddings and a Funeral-

-Some Kind of Wonderful-

-When Harry Met Sally-

And my all time favorite onscreen TV kiss-

-Friends- Ross and Rachel’s First Kiss

There are so many more that I could add to this list but I thought it was best to keep it to 5!

Cee’s Compose Yourself Photo Challenge: #15 Cropping Tips

I’m a big fan of cropping and I try to seize every opportunity I can to do this. I tried to find a variety of photos to crop and here they are!

These photographs are my contributions to Cee’s Compose Yourself Photo Challenge: #15 Cropping Tips.

In my first picture, cropping all the bystanders out makes a big difference.

Here is a picture I took when we were in Disney World.

And here they are close up.

In my second picture, I wanted the dandelion and its shadow to be the focus by cropping out some of the other stuff.

Before cropping.

After cropping, I think that the shadow plays more of a part in the whole picture.

In the next picture, I liked the reflection in the puddle but felt that it was easy to over look.

And after. I probably could have cropped even more.

And finally, another dandelion picture. I liked how the flower with fuzz is bent over the flower and I wanted them to be more prominent than the grass surrounding them.

The Great Book of Lists: Chapter 2.0- Dream Travels

With the new month comes a new chapter in The Great Book of Lists.

Chapter 2’s begins with our list of places we would love to go. This is quite the challenge because I really don’t like to venture very far! And yet, there are some places I would really love to see and here they are-

  • Italy, including Sicily
  • Paris, France
  • London, England
  • Liverpool, England
  • Australia

I really am content in my own little corner of the world but it’s always nice to dream, right?

You can check out more about this week’s topic at The Great Book of Lists: Chapter 2.0- Dream Travels.

Sunshine Day

No special reason for this post. It’s a crisp and sunny Saturday here in the Midwest and on mornings when the sun is shining so brightly as I look out my kitchen window that I’m tempted to slip on sunglasses inside the house, this song always comes to mind. If you grew up in the US around the same time I did, you need no explanation-

And if you aren’t familiar with  The Brady Bunch,  this popular tv series aired from 1969-1974. It went into syndication in 1975 and its reruns have been on the air ever since.

Happy Saturday!

I hope the sun is shining wherever you are!
