Writer’s Quote Wednesday- Hans Christian Andersen

words fail

Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) was the Danish author of many of the fairy tales I have come to know and love throughout my life- Thumbelina, The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Ugly Duckling, The Snow Queen, and The Little Mermaid…to name a few.

Many of his stories were my introduction to fairy tales. The film “Hans Christian Andersen” starring Danny Kaye is a fictional account of the author’s life. I grew up watching this movie and loving it. It brings back memories of my childhood, a simpler time and place.

I chose this quote because lately, I seem to be at a loss for words. I can’t keep a thought in my head. Ideas for posts are vague, fleeting, and hard to pin down. I know why it is happening. I know what I need to write.

Until I am able to put into words the thoughts and feelings that are crowding out everything else, I’m turning to music to get me through.
