Blessing

In the past 20 hours I have started writing this post only to delete it or save it as a draft that I will eventually delete.

I’m sitting in a darkened hospital room while Jasmine gets some much needed rest and Michael is spending much needed time with CJ. After a bit of drama mixed up with nasty weather and one of those surreal days where you know something is going to happen…. such as a baby being born….well, a baby was born. We welcomed our new little grandson into the world and into our lives last night.

What a feeling- to see Michael with his newborn baby! (We missed this part with CJ due to him coming into our lives at 2-1/2 years of age.) I can’t describe it. .and what a surprise to me it still is that he seems to be such a natural. Granted he hasn’t changed a diaper or fed him yet but just handling him, he seems at ease. And he’s very comfortable talking to him. Not everyone is, you know.

As for me, well, I’m all tears most of the time. Tears. A heart that’s overwhelmed with love. Concern for Jasmine, who is struggling a bit- resisting the efforts of the hospital staff to help her. And I’m resisting the urge to post 1110 pictures of the baby sleeping.

I am feeling pretty blessed right now!
