Chasing My Brand

As I mentioned yesterday, I’m taking part in Blogging 201. Today’s assignment was to audit my brand. Since I feel like my blog has been having a perpetual identity crisis, this caused me some anxiety. I spent most of my free time trying out new themes, waiting for my laptop to unfreeze and the Internet to work. On a good day, I have a hard time choosing a new theme and with the computer/wifi conspiracy in full swing today, I ended up very frustrated and with nothing more than red eyes and a headache to show for my efforts.

And then I saw that the next assignment was up. My stomach did a very nauseating flip flop as I read that I was supposed to see how my theme works on mobile devices….as I sat here reading it on my iPad, feeling quite foolish. You see, I do most of my Reader reading and commenting from this iPad. And it never occurred to me to double check how my blog looked. Sure, I pulled up my site but honestly didn’t really give it a second thought.

It was with great trepidation that I brought up my blog and gave it a good look. Other then the infinite scrolling which makes it hard to make it to the sidebar (which is now on the bottom), it words. Ditto for my iPhone. I know there is something I can do to remedy the infinite scroll issue but I’m wondering if I’m better off plowing forward and looking at themes again, this time paying attention to which ones are responsive and how they look on these mobile devices. Decisions, decisions.
